JCDecaux & Ineo-Sense – Connected bike mobility

To provide a more reliable service for Bicloo users in Nantes, JCDecaux relies on connected sensors to detect bike availability at each station.

The result: a smoother experience, higher bike turnover, and easier access to sustainable mobility.

A public service that meets urban expectations

JCDecaux is a French industrial group specializing in urban advertising across various street furniture formats. Known for its advertising bus shelters (“Abribus”), JCDecaux also offers bike-sharing systems.

Cities are increasingly adopting sustainable transportation modes to reduce their carbon footprint. Launched by JCDecaux, Bicloo is a bike-sharing system operating in Nantes that provides an eco-friendly and practical alternative to cars.

However, users often faced a lack of information on bike availability at each station in the city, which impacted the quality of the service.

A smart infrastructure for more efficient stations

The installation of 1,600 ACS-Switch-TOF sensors enables the detection of bikes on each storage rail at every station. With the MonBicloo app, users enjoy quick and easy access to real-time information on bike and station availability.

This app not only allows users to locate available bikes but also manages rental durations and subscriptions.

More intuitive and better-managed urban mobility

  • Thanks to the collected data, JCDecaux can analyze occupancy rates by station according to time slots and identify peak usage periods.
  • “Stuck” bikes are detected and removed to encourage parking spot turnover and improve service quality for users.
  • This step toward digitalization has made the bike rental service more accessible and user-friendly.
  • Bicloo stations spread across the Nantes metropolitan area have quickly gained popularity.

  • LPA & Ineo-Sense – Wireless urban parking guidance

To optimize the management of its underground parking lots, LPA and Ineo-Sense deployed GalaP.SYS®, a battery-powered wireless parking guidance system. Thanks to this solution, drivers can find free spaces more quickly, while the city reduces congestion, energy consumption, and installation costs.

  • Ausmeter & Ineo-Sense – Connected water management

In Australia, where droughts are becoming increasingly frequent, Ausmeter is deploying a submetering solution that connects older water meters. Thanks to the ESG-Logger-Pulse, consumption is monitored in real time, leaks are detected immediately, and resources are better preserved.
